What are the Live Capability Demonstrations?

The Apex Europe Live Capability Demonstration is a dedicated outdoor showcase on Day 2 of the event. Confirmed Partners have 10 minutes each to demonstrate working technology against real operational problems set by European and NATO commands.

This is your opportunity to put your technology in front of the senior European and NATO commanders, MoD acquisition leaders, and defence investors who matter most.

Live Capability Demonstration

THE OPPORTUNITY

Apex Europe is the operator-driven event series taking place in London for the first time in this October.

The programme is built around the near-term operational challenges facing European and NATO commands, and the Live Capability Demo is where companies get to show their solutions working in front of the people with the authority to act on what they see.

THE AUDIENCE

Apex Europe is invitation-curated, drawing senior delegations from across the defence and security community:

  • Operational leaders from European and NATO frontline commands
  • Acquisition executives from MoDs, programme offices and innovation units
  • Investors and Primes including the NATO Innovation Fund, VC partners, and tier-one systems integrators

WHERE YOUR CAPABILITY FITS

Apex Europe is organised around seven operational problems set by European and NATO commands. Not all of them are equally demonstrable at an outdoor London venue. The table below shows where the Live Demo is the right fit.

Mission Set Demo Fit Example Capability Types

A — Uncrewed Systems Interoperability

HIGH UGVs, autonomous ground platforms, multi-system C2 displays, UAS*
B — Autonomous Warfare at Scale HIGH Autonomous ground/air platforms, swarm coordination, human-machine interface
E — Counter-UxS (low-cost threats) HIGH Passive C-UAS detection, RF/optical tracking, drone catch / net systems
G — Denied, Degraded & Contested MEDIUM Passive EW sensing, comms resilience, spectrum management, cyber defence
F — Layered Air & Missile Defence MEDIUM Passive radar/sensors, IAMD software, C2 integration displays

C — Deep Precision Effects

LOWER Targeting and ISR software, sensor suites (no kinetic / launch)
D — Countering Undersea Threats LOWER Topside sensor & detection systems, sonar data displays, subsea monitoring software

* UAS flight is permitted subject to CAA Non-Standard Flight approval, Operational Authorisation and £10m public liability insurance. Active RF, radar, EW and high-power comms demonstrations are case-by-case and require advance approval. Full technical parameters are issued in the onboarding briefing pack.
